Our Year 5 and 6 athletics team competed against the top 10 schools out of the 5 counties yesterday at South Shields. Front Street came 6th over all AND still remain the top school in Gateshead! 🌟 A HUGE well done to everyone who represented #teamfrontstreet

In Geography, Year 5 have been learning about settlements, identifying land use in our local area and how it has changed over the years. School has been working with Historic England to look at maps from different times.
Every year, we take part in the Spoors Church Christmas tree festival. This year, our Nursery children (helped by the Art ambassadors) made special decorations, and our RE ambassadors made some too. The RE ambassadors visited the church to decorate the tree, and were given books about the Christmas
One of the key British values is the rule of law. Year 5 learned about how a courtroom works and the roles of different people within it. We then acted out the trial of the redcoat soldiers from the poem, The Highwayman, by Alfred Noyes. Our jury’s verdict? Guilty! Articles 13, 29

This morning, the whole school came together for a special assembly to celebrate the start of the Christmas season. The highlight of the morning was the grand switching on of the Christmas tree lights.

This morning KS2 thoroughly enjoyed Gateshead Musics workshop. They sang songs, played instruments and got right into the Christmas spirit!
