A group of Year 9 students from Whickham School visited Year 5 and delivered an introductory lesson to German. We even listened to The Very Hungry Caterpillar in German and played some games.

In Art we are looking at shadow artworks. We created our own silhouettes and painted backgrounds for them. Can you tell who is who? Article 29
In DT, we used squared paper to make prototype pencil cases. This meant we could test whether our designs were the right size before we started cutting out material. We then used paper templates and pinned them to our fabric, before cutting out our different pieces. Article 29
Year 5 are learning about Ancient Greece, and we enjoyed a virtual workshop with Durham University. We explored artefacts and even performed our own version of the Greek play, ‘The Medea’. Article 29
Year 5 have been learning about land use in Whickham. We are currently discussing the site of the old school building and how it could be re developed so we walked up to see the area in question. We are collecting opinions so you may receive a Google link to complete a survey.
