In History, Year 5 have looked at how communication has changed through time, from cave art to the internet. We created some cave art of our own, experimenting with background washes, ancient symbols and bold shapes.

We’ve been using pencils to learn about blending and shading and created a graduated colour mix. The effects were wonderful. We then linked it to science where we’ve been analysing the parts of a flower and did some still life flower drawings using our blending skills.
An important part of learning about British values is understanding how our justice system works. We have been studying Alfred Noyes’ ‘The Highwayman’ and the class had to choose whether he was guilty as charged or innocent. We split into defence and prosecution and held a trial in the class
With holes in our fingers, we made the most amazing butterflies using florists wire!
