One of our summer art skills was to impress patterns into clay.  Using our still life natural world influence from other art lessons we used household objects to create patterns pressed into clay.  We then painted and glossed our tiles.

Year 5 have been looking at food hygiene, kitchen safety and different food preparation techniques. Today we created a simple fruit salad, using slicing, peeling, grating and chopping.  And then of course we had to sample it…..

We had a fantastic day with our visitors from the University. We learned about the Maths hidden inside our favourite books, and we designed and built robots to carry Squirtle. We even raced our finished robots!

3 teams of 24 children from Year 5 took part in the Year 5/6 cricket tournament just before half term. They all bowled, batted and fielded and had a great day at The Glebe with a picnic lunch in the middle.

We learned about Guru Har Gobind in RE. Inspired by the story of how he used his cloak to help people, we created our own designs for a new cloak for him. We made stampers from unwanted rubbish. It was lots of fun.
