Year 2

Today it was our Harvest Festival and what an amazing show it was! Each year group performed a special Harvest song and year 2 reminded us all what Harvest was. Father Barry came too he has taken our food donations to places that need them most.  Ask your child what song they sang! Article 6 – the

Today we have tested our rafts. We marked them out of ten for floating and moving. Some scored 20/20!! We had great fun and have put all of the results on a bar chart.

Some of the children took part in a poetry competition in school during ‘Take One Poem’ week. It was lovely seeing them all reading poetry during their break time. Article 29

We are aiming to make our yard more active!  We’ve had some great new games painted and the year 6 buddies are running lots of games and sports over lunchtime. We are working hard for our active 30 minutes a day!

Local Poet Rowan McCabe came into school to talk to us about poetry and how he feels free when he writes and performs his poetry. He spent time in class with Years 4 and 5 and the children loved it! Year two made and tested umbrellas in science. We really enjoyed finding out which materials were best.

Over the last 2 weeks, we have designed and made our own hand puppets. We have learnt lots of new skills and showed real tolerance, especially with the stitching!! I think Mrs Smith and I aged 10 years yesterday! I am sure you will agree they look fantastic

Year One and Two spent the whole morning competing between each other in an intra-school tournament. Thank you to the Year Ten students from Whickham School who came to run this event for us. Everyone had a lot of fun improving their; football, cricket and basketball skills throughout the morning. W
