Year 5 are learning about Ancient Greece, and we enjoyed a virtual workshop with Durham University. We explored artefacts and even performed our own version of the Greek play, ‘The Medea’. Article 29
Every year, we take part in the Spoors Church Christmas tree festival. This year, our Nursery children (helped by the Art ambassadors) made special decorations, and our RE ambassadors made some too. The RE ambassadors visited the church to decorate the tree, and were given books about the Christmas
In Art, we learned about primary, secondary and tertiary colours using the colour wheel. We also explored how artists use vibrant and muted palettes. We created our own muted colours through mixing paint.
In RE, we learned about the Christian festival of Pentecost. We used symbols of Pentecost to create our own art. ;
Year 5 have been exploring colour this half term. We have been looking at the work of Romero Britto and created our own work in his style.
The children took part in a French art competition. They had to research a French artist’s style of art and then replicate that style to design sport’s characters linked to the 2024 Olympics. The French ambassadors chose a winner from each year which was a very difficult job! Well done to these
