In Music, we’ve been composing our own music for glockenspiels, accompanied by untuned percussion. We recorded our melodies using stave notation, and came up with our own images to represent the accompanying percussion. It was loud but fun! Articles 29 and 31

We have been studying Alfred Noyes’ narrative poem, The Highwayman. today, we freeze framed different points in the story, and explored what the characters might be feeling and thinking. Articles 29 and 31

We have been learning about the Christian celebration of Pentecost. We explored the story and the symbols used to represent it, such as clouds, flames, wind and doves. Which ones can you spot in our artwork? Articles 14, 29, 31

Year 1 have been learning about primary and secondary colours in art. They  investigated how they could create a lighter coloured tint by adding white to the original primary colour.

This half term, we are learning about line. We have explored different types of lines and developed our skills in continuous line drawing.

In music lessons, year 6 have been learning about pitch and dynamics. In today’s lesson, they recorded their own graphic scores and then used glockenspiels in a performance. They had to also act as conductors to support their peers during the performances.

Front Street’s Key Stage 1 choir have been practising some songs in preparation for tomorrow’s performance in assembly. It will be their first performance together and they’re all super excited to show off their singing talents! IMG_5606
