The nursery children have loved joining in with Christmas crafts, games and role play. Merry Christmas Nursery!
Every year, we take part in the Spoors Church Christmas tree festival. This year, our Nursery children (helped by the Art ambassadors) made special decorations, and our RE ambassadors made some too. The RE ambassadors visited the church to decorate the tree, and were given books about the Christmas
We all looked at some beautiful artwork by an artist called Lucy Loveheart. She has created some lovely hearts. We made some of our own! We enjoyed using the spray bottles to soak the tissue paper. The dye then all transferred onto our paper hearts. Then we used sequins and glitter to decorate them
This morning, the whole school came together for a special assembly to celebrate the start of the Christmas season. The highlight of the morning was the grand switching on of the Christmas tree lights.

During half term, ten of our budding gardeners helped the volunteer group ‘Planting up Whickham’ plant winter flowers around St Mary’s Green and the shopping area. The organisers were super impressed with the children’s efforts, manners, attitudes and willingness to help. Well done everyone!
Christmas activities have begun!
When the weather turned colder we enjoyed exploring the outdoor area, finding frost and ice. We discovered the sand in the sand pit had gone rock solid! We then made our own ice decorations and hung them up outdoors. Article 31
For Children in Need we all enjoyed wearing our Pudsey ears and colouring our Pudsey pictures. Then we made the air spotty with balloons as we know that Pudsey loves spotty patterns! Article 31
In Nursery we have loved making poppy prints today! We observed the silence at 11am. Well done Nursery!
