Our History Ambassadors spent the morning with Local Historian Richard Pears, who took them on a history tour around the village. During our walk, we learned all sorts of interesting facts about Whickham’s history. Did you know “Whickham” is Anglo-Saxon, meaning “estate with a quickset hedge”?
The children have loved learning about patterns. We looked at patterns in nature, on animals and leaves and we then found patterns on clothes and fabric. There are patterns everywhere! What a difference a bit of sunshine can make! It was time to water the plants and vegetables. We are very excited to see them growing. We had fun using spray bottles and water pistols as well as watering cans. This is great for our motor skills. We enjoyed our snack time outside too. Article 28

The children in nursery have been learning how to join paper and card together using a stapler. Some children made their own bags! Article 28
We loved learning about our solar system. We made our own by doing some printing with different sized sponges, blocks and balloons! Then we counted the planets and then made some solar system pictures of our own. Article 28
The ducklings came to nursery today. We talked about them hatching and their life cycle. It was very exciting and they were very cute. They love splashing around in the water.
