In year 3, we’ve been working on teamwork and pair work skills. We know that for working together to be successful, we need to listen, think, build ourselves up and speak respectfully.
During the summer holidays, our school RRSA mascots, Danny and Daisy, visited the war graves of Polygon Wood, Ypres in Belgium with Mrs Short and her family. They visited the grave of Mrs Short’s Grandad’s cousin who was sadly killed on the first day of the battle of Polygon Wood in September 19
This morning, a group of our children attended the Whickham Remembrance Parade. Year Six children laid our school wreath on behalf of everyone. Well done to all of the Front Street children who represented their uniformed organisations too. “…We will remember them…”

Today, we learned about the importance of clear, accurate instructions. We programmed our teachers to make jam sandwiches and discovered that word choices were vital to achieve the best end product. We then gave our partner instructions to draw an unusual picture that they couldn’t see.
We have been learning about line in art. We completed our unit of learning with a self portrait, trying hard to apply all of our new knowledge and skills such as thick and thin lines, dark and light lines, curved and straight lines, cross hatching and more. We were very proud of our work!
