Year 3

This week, year 3 planned and carried out their whole school science investigation ‘which material is best to help water walk?’ The children made predictions before setting up the cups. After one hour, some of the water had already started to travel! We talked about why some materials had worked

Today, we continued our ocarina lessons. We learned some new songs and played some songs from last year. We also focused our learning when listening to a song, guessed which animal it sounded most like and explained why. Our new music teacher, Miss McDonald was very impressed with our skills so far

Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed their visit from the Dogs Trust. It was great to learn all about how to treat dogs safely.

The Dogs Trust came to visit Front Street School today. Rachel came with her toy dog Ted to explain how we should behave if we meet a dog outside that we don’t know. We learned how to say hello to a dog safely and where best to stroke it so we don’t frighten the dog. Article 13, 17, 19, 28

All children in school have taken part in Day To Create as part of Artsmark’s 20yr anniversary celebrations. We all thought about problems we wanted to solve and came up with our own inventions. Our last art competition of the year. Children could interpret ‘Looking to the future’ in any way they would like. Well done everyone. Winners to be chosen next week.

The Year 3 children went to the Sage Gateshead to take part in The Big Sing. The theme was Sing for the Earth, and all of the songs were about helping the environment. We had such good fun; singing, dancing and cheering! IMG_2455 IMG_2432
