Reception

We all enjoyed our first experience of ‘Mystery Reader’.  Everyone got a surprise when they opened their eyes to see who was sitting in the ‘Mystery Reader’ chair. We wonder who will be sitting in the chair next week…… Article 28

On Monday we enjoyed our Christmas Party. We played musical statues, musical bumps, danced to songs like the cha cha slide and chuchuwa, had a snack and a drink and even got to meet Santa! Articles 28, 31      

Members of our school council delivered gifts to our local B&M as part of ‘Cash for Kids Mission Christmas’. This charity aims to provide a gift for every child to wake up to on Christmas morning, helping them meet their right of article 27! A huge thank you to everybody who donated a gift!

Our ‘Book Swap’ morning was enjoyed by everyone.  

Yesterday we were lucky enough to receive a visit from the author Nishani Reed. She read us her new book ‘Nabil steals a penguin’. We really enjoyed the story, especially the part where the penguin tried some biriyani rice! We even got to have a go at drawing our own penguins! Article 28, 31

Last week we worked very hard in Reception! We used skills that we have been learning in phonics to independently write a Christmas list for Santa, we found this a bit tricky but remembered that our Fred fingers could help us sound out and write words we didn’t know. We also looked at a local area

On Thursday and Friday Reception were very lucky to take part in ‘Bike-It’. We had a lot of fun balancing, racing, manoeuvring and building our confidence on balance bikes! Articles 28, 31  

Today we learnt all about Children in Need and why we raise money for this cause. We enjoyed wearing our Pudsey bear ears, socks and decorated T-shirt’s to school and doing crafts. We also had fun dancing along with Pudsey dance videos. Article 19, 20, 21,22, 23,24, 26, 27

This week Reception have been taking part in anti-bullying week. We wore odd socks and discussed how we are all different to each other and that this makes us unique and special. We talked about our rights and that we all have the right to be free from discrimination (we even talked about what this
