Last week the weather turned very cold. The frost and snow covered the nursery outdoor area. We enjoyed making marks, footprints and looked for ice. Some of the children wanted to save the ice to take home. Cue some scientific discussions, ‘Early Years style,’ about where the ice came from and w
This week we have been making a bug hotel outside. Thank you so much to the parents and children who have brought in all of the natural resources. It’s looking great! We also worked really hard in the rain to make a den that was waterproof. We were able to play underneath it and stay dry!
During the summer holidays, our school RRSA mascots, Danny and Daisy, visited the war graves of Polygon Wood, Ypres in Belgium with Mrs Short and her family. They visited the grave of Mrs Short’s Grandad’s cousin who was sadly killed on the first day of the battle of Polygon Wood in September 19
The nursery children loved decorating the tree today. It looks beautiful. Then we all had a dance to celebrate a job well done!
Today we talked about why we were wearing Pudsey ears. We loved making our own Pudsey biscuits in the morning and then danced like Pudsey Bear in PE in the afternoon.

We have been throwing and catching balloons in PE this week. We cheered our friends on in a balloon catch game and then learnt a firework dance. Amazing work everyone!
Earlier in the week we brushed some magic powder onto the ground and made some patterns to create our magic spells. It was fun but lots of hard work! Then on Friday we danced the afternoon away at our spooky Halloween party!
We have loved getting into the spooky mood this week!
