Our Reading Champiosns visited Waterstones in the Metro Centre yesterday to meet Liam, the Children’s book expert. He was very impressed with their book reviews and was keen to hear their thoughts about the books they had read. Then he helped them to choose a new book. It was a lovely visit and
5H had a fantastic time at Nissan’s Code Club. We learned about coding, and then put what we had learned into practice, controlling and racing robots. It was brilliant fun and we learned a lot.
We had an AMAZING day on Ancient Greek day! After learning about the history of the different city states, we made our own clay offerings. Then we acted out Sophocles’ famous play, The Medea. Best of all, we investigated different artefacts. Some were over 2,500 years old!
Today we said a very emotional goodbye to Miss Monica and Miss Wang. Miss Monica has been with us for two weeks and we’ve really enjoyed learning Chinese and maths and getting to know her. We have had lots of observers in our class and the children have been outstanding! To finish today she spen

Today we welcomed Miss Monica and Miss Wang to our school for the next two weeks. They will be working in 2Sand 5G. We presented them with home and away food packs. They brought us some amazing gifts too and we have even been learning some Chinese!!
We finished the book at half term but the children have kept reading and enjoying the series so much we kept Harry Potter Day until the end of term. It is always so wonderful to see all the fantastic costumes and outfits that are created! Can you spot and name all of the characters in the picture?

We had a great day working with Durham University learning all about the Ancient Greeks. We looked at primary and secondary sources of evidence, made votives out of clay and performed in our very own Greek Tragedy play!
