Year 3

Year three children brought the picture story we are reading in English lessons to life today with a bit of drama. They explored the images from the start of their story and acted them out. What a superb performance from every child!

French club have had a fantastic time during their topic on Superheroes!

At Front Street, our children are encouraged to develop a greater understanding and knowledge of the world, as well as their place in it. Our curriculum helps to provoke and provide answers about the natural and human aspects of the world and encourages the children to ‘think like a Geographer.’

Year three children have been learning about pneumatics in DT (producing movement from pressurised air). Today, the children completed their pneumatic hoists using tech card packs. They were delighted when they saw that they worked! IMG_3351 IMG_3349

Today, we learned about mould and body fossils by making models out of bread and gummy animals. We now understand how fossils are formed.

As part of this term’s art unit, the Year 3 children were given the challenge of exploring how they can mix and blend colours using different media. They discussed how easy it was to blend the colours, or mix them to make a new colour, and talked about how this looked on the paper. The children st

The year 3 children enjoyed dressing in spots and dots today to celebrate the day. We shared the books we love to read and took part in book swap. We also made book marks for the whole school competition. What do you think of our creations?

Years 3 and 4 enjoyed their combined ‘Spots and Dots’ celebration for World Book Day.  

In year three PSHCE, we set the challenge to make a banana car in groups. The children had to work together to share ideas, share the work and make a car that everyone was happy with. Look at our designs!
