Year 1 and 2 had a lovely afternoon meeting Kate Pankhurst author of ‘We are all Inventors’ and many more fantastic books. Kate showed the children how to draw a character from her new book and we were so impressed with their efforts.

Year 2 went on a walk around Whickham as part of our Geography fieldwork. They identified human and physical features. article:28  

The day they were waiting for…testing the rafts! Good decisions were made because all of the rafts floated and the materials were mostly waterproof. article: 28

Year 2 investigated different types of chocolate boxes in preparation for some designing of their own. They judged the boxes on appearance, ease of opening and how environmentally friendly they were. article: 28

Year 2 embraced Odd Socks Day and Antibullying Week with a discussion about how we can be the best version of ourselves and how powerful being ‘Good’ can be. They made a jar of kindness which is filled with lots of positive ‘good’ actions that can be done to make someone’s day brighter. ar
