Well it took a little while for us all to get changed into our PE kits but the children tried so hard to be independent and some of them amazed us 👏👏 The children practised their basic skills of walking, running, skipping, hopping, jumping and finished off with some bear walks! Article 28,29,3

The children have settled in so well to year 1. Today in mastering number we have been using the rekenreks and this afternoon we made hammer art, spent time in the chill out zone and used our new construction equipment.

In our session today with Rachel we learned 5 important rules 1. When a dog is resting, leave them alone. 2. When a dog is eating, leave them alone. 3. Always be quiet around dogs. 4. Dogs don’t like hugs, they like gentle strokes. 5. If a dog takes your toy, tell a grown up. Article 12, 17, 19, 2

The Dogs Trust came to visit Front Street School today. Rachel came with her toy dog Ted to explain how we should behave if we meet a dog outside that we don’t know. We learned how to say hello to a dog safely and where best to stroke it so we don’t frighten the dog. Article 13, 17, 19, 28
