Year 4

This week Year 4 were involved in a Volleyball event at Whickham Comprehensive led by their young Sports Leaders. They showed the children how to hit the ball with control and accuracy. Then they were involved in an intra school  competition as well as competing with other schools in the cluster.

Our Reading Champiosns visited Waterstones in the Metro Centre yesterday to meet Liam, the Children’s  book expert. He was very impressed with their book reviews and was keen to hear their thoughts about the books they had read. Then he helped them to choose a new book. It was a lovely visit and

Sports leaders from Whickham Comprehensive are leading our PE sessions this half term. We soon warmed up then practise throwing and catching skills and at speed and with accuracy. Playing games involving defending enabled us to develop our skills playing in a team. Article 31,24

Our famous inventor was Thomas Edison. Do you know that he did NOT invent the lightbulb?  STEM week was linked to our science curriculum on exploring circuits and switches, conductors and insulators. We also discussed dangers associated with electricity. RRSA article 19,24

Today we welcomed Miss Monica and Miss Wang to our school for the next two weeks. They will be working in 2Sand 5G. We presented them with home and away food packs. They brought us some amazing gifts too and we have even been learning some Chinese!!

Meet Our Reading Champions. They have read and reviewed a set of new books from Waterstones. Their reviews will be taken to the bookshop  to be put on display. Next term the Reading Champions will share their books with their year group and in assembly.
