Art – S2  We have been experimenting how to make colours lighter and darker without using black or white.

Year 5 have been learning about perspective in art. We have focused on using a vanishing point to help us with angles in drawing. Article 29

The children have loved learning about primary and secondary colours…but mixing them themselves brought lots of smiles!!! Article 28, 29

In Year 5, we have been putting our art skills to good use to make calendars. We used mixed media to create a landscape, with a colour wash background.

5L have some talented musicians. This week Imogen visited Year 4 to play her ukulele to help them with their music lessons. Satsuki showed off her piano skills to the class and the guitar players entertained us with a rendition of jingle bells. Article 29

1S had a magical visit last night…the reading elf!!! Under the tree was a Christmas present for us, a new book. We loved reading it. Thank you! Article 28,29 IMG_0375

Year 3 and Year 4 took part in an author event today. They watched an interview with Michael Rosen who shared his story of resilience and determination after his battle with Covid. They also got to hear his new story, “Sticky McStickStick” which is based on his rehabilitation. This provoked lots of

4O’N had their first Ukulele lesson today. They were very excited and made a great sound. This week they learnt how to play the note C. Articles: 28,29,31        

We are really enjoying creating our own fun fireworks in lots of different ways. We have been using our body’s to move like fireworks and using different materials to create them. We even tried learning the makaton sign for firework. Article 28,31.
