In Year 5 we have been learning how to mix different media to create different effects in art.
The children have been discovering the different styles and techniques artists can have and use. We have been looking at work from Amiria Gale and Claude Monet. We used chalk pastels to draw a shell and blend colours with light and dark tones and used our fingers to create colours using our finger
We had a brilliant time during our Ancient Greek workshop with Durham University! We learned about Greek city states and what life was like for people who lived in them. We used our archaeology skills to work out what ancient artefacts were, and even performed ‘The Medea’, a play by Euripides.
In music this half term we have been learning how to play the African drums. We are getting really good at following the beat and have even learnt some new words.
