Reception

We took part in lots of speaking and listening activities in Reception during ‘No pens day’. We matched objects to their initial sounds and used glitter to practice writing our sounds.

Reception went to the wooded area this week.  This was their first time there so they had lots of fun exploring the area.  Some of the children climbed on the trees and others used the tools to dig and gather leaves.  They could also see the builders working on our new school!

The children have had lots of things to explore in Reception.  Here are some of the things that they have been getting up to during their first week.

Every Wednesday afternoon Reception go to the Trim Trail and MUGA.  There are lots of fun things to do when we are there.

The children have been enjoying their school dinners.  Here are some pictures of them on their first visit to the school canteen.  They were all very sensible when crossing the road and listened carefully to their instructions.  After dinner they played on the yard.  

Reception have worked very hard this year and made all their teachers very proud!  As an end of year treat we had a ‘Teddy Bears picnic’ at the park.  Lots of parents and grandparents joined us to play in the park, share our learning journeys and join in with games, we even had some parent races f

Reception loved performing during ‘Reception’s got talent’.  We had lots of brilliant singers and musicians.  The judges were very impressed by all of the performances!
