The children in Reception have been very excited to work in our new ‘Mud kitchen’ which has been made in our outdoor area with special help from ‘Doosan’.  It has been a very popular area for the children to work in and they have have been very busy making mud pies and exploring the mud!  We would

We have been using the trim trail and MUGA to practice lots of physical skills.  We have enjoyed using the P.E equipment, playing games with the parachute and travelling along the trim trail.  While we were at the trim trail we used our senses to explore the outdoor area and recorded our findings!

We had a great day on Friday 13th March celebrating Red Nose Day 2015 by taking part in nose agility challenges. We started by balancing the nose on our body, such as our heads and face and nose. Last week in Reception the children were learning about Chinese New Year.  We watched video clips of a family celebrating, listened to the story of Chinese New year, tasted chinese food, made lanterns, explored noodles and prawn crackers in the messy tray and much more! 

          This week we have been reading ‘Goldilocks and the three bears’ as part of our ‘Fairytales’ topic.  We have been doing lots of Goldilocks activities from tasting sweet, salty and plain porridge to sequencing the story.  The children have even put on their own Go

Reception had a brilliant afternoon at ‘Down at the Farm’.  They got to write Santa lists, hold rabbits, meet a reindeer, ride on the barrel ride and best of all meet Santa!!  Everyone had so much fun, we can’t wait for Christmas now!

Reception had a visit from ‘Road Safety’ this week.  They taught us how to be safe on the road by remembering to ‘Stop, look, listen and think’.  The children enjoyed practicing these skills on the road, some children even got to hold the lollipop!
