In PE this term, we are working on our fitness. We set up a fitness circuit this afternoon and spent 2 minutes on each station. Our favourite station was Freestyle Dance! We hope to improve our fitness as the weeks progress.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Sports Day in year 2 and loved having our parents there to watch. Thank you to Miss Gilderoy and the School Sports Partnership for organising and to everyone who helped out.

Year 2 are investigating which drinks help plants to grow the strongest. Today, we set up 7 plants and hydrated them with different liquids: water, milk, Coca Cola, lemon juice, orange juice, blue food colour and tea. We predicted which we think will help the plant grow the best. What do you think?
This afternoon, the children in year 2 enjoyed a session all about road safety. In the session, the important rules, STOP, LOOK and LISTEN were discussed. We also talked about why we should look right first and thought about the dangers of quiet, electric vehicles.
The year two children completed their Spring DT work today with a final challenge: design and make a model trolley for Nick, our caretaker, to help him move heavy objects around. We worked well together in pairs and have really enjoyed this unit of work!
In gymnastics, we’ve been working in pairs to make shapes. This has meant we’ve had to trust each other at times to hold our weight as we balance.
Today we enjoyed a bug hunt, drawing bugs and discovering what materials floated or sank. The gorgeous sunshine made it even better!
This afternoon, we had a great lesson trying to make working axles and wheels. We are looking forward to testing out different types of axle holder next week.
Today we found textures all over our school! We did rubbings on large sheets to make into a class texture book.
