We have been looking at the work of Georgia O’Keefe and love her close up flowers! We worked hard to draw our own flower outline and carefully painted the petals and background. We then used pastels to add detail…we think they are fab!!! ? Article 28,29

We looked at the different colours in the painting and also focused on the light from the candle and the bird. From this we made marks on the canvas with a candle of our own, then used water colours over the top of it. It was an interesting experiment for us to do which was nice as the painting itse

Today in Art Club we have been designing the front covers of our sketch books and painting glass and tiles.

We designed feather patterns and looked at colour families for the background. You will be able to view all the work in the gallery next week

The inspiration for our artwork came from the moonlight coming through the window in the painting.  We all painted our own moon and mixed the different colours to show light and dark. We looked at silhouettes and created our own on top of our moonlight…we think they look amazing!!!!! Article 29

We really enjoyed our Egyptian workshop it was a busy day of drama, movement and arts. Here is a few photographs from the day.

In History, Year 5 have looked at how communication has changed through time, from cave art to the internet. We created some cave art of our own, experimenting with background washes, ancient symbols and bold shapes.
