Reception have been learning about and celebrating Chinese New Year this week! We have learnt about the story of the Chinese calendar and have found out that within Reception this year all the children were born in either the year of the pig 🐖 or the year of the rat.🐀 This year it is the year
Reception have had a mud-tastic time in our mud kitchen and water areas this week. Their creative ideas involved mixing water, mud, leaves, mint leaves and other natural objects. The children made mud pies, cupcakes, soup and many more wonderful mud creations!! Articles 28,29,31
This morning, the whole school came together for a special assembly to celebrate the start of the Christmas season. The highlight of the morning was the grand switching on of the Christmas tree lights.

Reception proudly took part in Remembrance Day 2024. We learnt about why the number 11 is important today (11/11 and 11am) We learnt about the difference between red and purple poppies. We completed remembrance tasks and crafts and took part in the 2 minute silence.
Reception have started their gymnastic PE sessions on a Thursday morning. We have been learning different gymnastics shapes such as; tuck, straddle, pike and a star! I wonder what we will learn next week?! Articles 24,28,29
Reception wrote their letters to Santa and went on a local walk to the post box to post their letters. We love to mark make and write letters in our classroom and even have our very own post box and Christmas post box topper in Reception!
Reception looked brilliant in their party attire this week! They all had a wonderful time at their Christmas party playing games, eating and dancing together AND they even had a special visit from Santa! Magical memories made ✨ 🎅 ❤️
Reception welcomed their first ‘Mystery Readers’ on Friday. The children were very excited to see who was sitting in their teacher’s chair. I wonder who it will be this Friday….
