Year Six Geography goes digital…

In our Geography lessons we have been learning about sustainability and the use of renewable v’s non-renewable energy resources.

In this lesson our learning went digital as we completed our Digi-map challenge. We located a series of pins on our digital map and discovered that in our own region there many sources of energy.  We found there were solar and wind farms in our region; water recycling centres, managed forest areas and evidence of past industries such as coal mining.

Our geography learning did not end there, we used a series of maps all suing different scales to write a 6-digit grid reference for these locations and for those of us who still had time for a challenge we calculated the distances from school to these different sites.

With such good map skills, no one in Year Six will be getting lost any time soon!
