Year 5


During our work on One World Week, Year 5 were studying about the culture, customs and lives of people in Italy. As part of our work, we all visited Deanos in Whickham to sample Italian cuisine for ourselves! All of the children and staff were able to make pizzas by choosing and adding their own top


Our  Front Street Athletics teams were great competitors this year and we came home with a lovely collection of medals! Year 5 had a great ICT lesson on a rare sunny afternoon, they used a Logit Explorer to monitor their pulse rates before exercise, after moderate exercise then again after strenuous exercise.  Our results showed that after exercise our heart rate goes up!!


All classes in our school have been learning fun and exciting songs to help us learn how to count in different ways. On Jubilee day we had a whole school sing off to see who was best!! We all really enjoyed being together as a whole school and the weather behaved too!!!      


On Tuesday 29th May, Year 5 all visited the ISKON Hindu Temple in Newcastle. Kirtida made learning about Hinduism and traditions really fun. We took part in the following activities… We watched Kirtida demonstrate Hindu ceremonies We were cooked and served traditional Indian food We dressed up in
